「2016台北上海城市論壇」結束後，新北市長朱立倫在新北市政府員工餐廳，為上海市長代表沙海林餞行，因為雙方都是「老朋友」，午宴走簡樸風，7菜1湯1甜點、6千元一桌，硬是比台北市的6500元還低。
新北市新聞局長張其強表示，菜色部分選用新北特色食材，像是雙溪山藥、金山甘藷、文山包種茶與國產紅麴葡萄酒等，沙海林很驚訝，居然能在員工餐廳吃到這麼好的料理。
朱立倫說，上海台辦等人上次來的時候，也是在這個餐廳吃飯，因為很方便，大家覺得很親切、很輕鬆、也很自然，所以這次「餞別宴」也選在這裡。
其實朱立倫去年在上海參訪時，也走簡樸風，當時身為國民黨主席，通關自己拉行李，引發陸媒一陣驚呼，與台商座談時甚至連便當都沒吃，因為擔心大陸維安人員依慣例「進廚房維安」，寧可餓肚子也不想造成台商困擾。
張其強也透露，參訪八里焚化廠，是當年仍是上海市長的韓正想看垃圾分類項目，但適逢歲修，所以特別指定沙海林來「一探究竟」。
